Bowen Mountain Community Arts Festival

The Bowen Mountain Community Arts Festival will bring many visitors to picturesque Bowen Mountain this weekend. Talented and respected local artists and craftspeople will exhibit their works at the exhibition.  All works are offered for sale. Local school children will show off their skills by entering in the very popular  junior competition in various age categories.   Visitors can cast their votes for the children’s art Peoples Choice Award. The venue, Bowen Mountain Park, is the ideal setting for the event.   Visitors will experience the magnificent mature trees, picnic lawns, and panoramic views to the city and central coast.  The organizers are offering a sausage sizzle between midday and 2.00pm each day.  Soft drinks will be on sale and free tea and coffee will be available.  Children are catered for by the modern children’s playground. The International 'Back to Back' Wool Challenge & Apple Pie Bake-Off - 8am to 4pm
The challenge is to hand sheer a sheep, spin the wool and knit a sweater in eight hours, (from the back of the sheep to the back of the shearer!). The challenge will be attempted by a team of eight - s blade shearer and seven spinners and knitters.
Fun with wool activities for kids; Craft sales; Food and local produce stalls; Grand raffle and acution of sweater and winning apple pies.

Apple Pie Bake-Off
Entry: Gold Coin Donation
A bake-off to showcase local produce and good old-fashioned country cooking with entries invited in a number of categories. This year's judge Marie-libera Zarro will review all entires on the day with winners announced and prizes awarded from 11.30am.
The category winners will then be auctioned along with a 'Back to Back'sweater to raise money for the Council Council of NSW.

Mt. Wilson Turish Bath Museum TBA
This unique heritage listed building is situated within the Wynstay Estate at the end of The Avenue, Mount Wilson. It was the one of the first properties to be established in Mount Wilson, as early as 1875, by Mr Richard Wynne who also established the Wynne Landscape & Sculpture Prize in 1895.
The building was in use for a few years for its initial purpose, as a Turkish Bath, but now partly restored it houses a museum of local history operated by the Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine Historical Society.
