To familiarise yourself with the area known as The Hawkesbury and greater Hawkesbury, please make use of the variety of local maps below. These maps include information about the area along with specific maps that relate to activities in the area, including bush walks; our local heritage and history; and cycling.
By the way, the "Hawkesbury" is often used to refer to both the area of the Hawkesbury LGA (defined) and the greater Hawkesbury based on the Hawkesbury River (catchment area), part of the Hawkesbury-Nepean River. The Hawkesbury River generally runs from Yarramundi, in the south of the Hawkesbury LGA, to its mouth at Broken Bay on Sydney's eastern seaboard. (The Nepean part of the Hawkesbury-Nepean River generally runs from Menangle Park (Campbelltown LGA) to Yarramundi.) The Hawkesbury River, has relevance to Hawkesbury, Baulkham Hills, Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai and Pitt Water LGAs (on the south side).
The maps below cover the Hawkesbury LGA and the part of the greater Hawkesbury (being Hawkesbury, Baulkham Hills and Hornsby LGAs).
