Spring into Colour

Starting mid September, visitors will be greeted by the vibrant colour of spring flowers at the Garden entry. The mass plantings will provide a spectacular display to whet the appetite for the 70 acres of spring delights inside the garden.

Holiday Reading Club

Just for reading! Join the Reading Club for your chance to win some great prizes. Every child who joins will be given a starter pack with reading logs and instructions. When you've read 5 books fill in the reading log and drop it to the library to go in the prize draw. The more you read the more you can enter. Register from Monday 13th September at both Hawkesbury Central and Richmond Branch Libraries.

This local plantation has about 1000 Waratah plants including the rare white Waratah. Cut blooms for sale. Access to the plantations is by a fairly steep rough track (no wheelchair access).

Perfick - 10 Powells Rd, Bilpin :
Features shrubs, perennials and roses surrounding lawns, a hillside of deciduous trees and a huge lake.
Woodgreen - 27 Powells Rd, Bilpin : A Collectors garden of choice perennials. Salvias, Artemisias, roses, grases combine with a woodland of maples, birches and dogwoods.
Kookaburra Gardens - 83 Powells Rd, Bilpin : There is a traditional Japanese garden, rose gardens, rhododendrons, kalmias and clematis, with a new iris garden framed by lovely trees.
$6 for individual garden entry or $15 for 3 gardens and Flower show at Bilpin Hall. Chlldren are admitted free to gardens

The foundation stone of Francis Greenway's St. Matthew's Anglican Church was laid by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in October 1817.
St. Matthew's Rectory and Stables (1824-5) were also designed by convict architect Sir Francis Greenway and built by William Cox, Principal Magistrate to the colony of New South Wales, 1810 -1837.
In 2010 a rare opportunity is being provided to view inside these magnificant and historic buildings.
