St. Matthew's Anglican Church Rectory and Stables
Open House & Afternoon Tea
The foundation stone of Francis Greenway's St. Matthew's Anglican Church was laid by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in October 1817.
St. Matthew's Rectory and Stables (1824-5) were also designed by convict architect Sir Francis Greenway and built by William Cox, Principal Magistrate to the colony of New South Wales, 1810 -1837.
In 2010 a rare opportunity is being provided to view inside these magnificant and historic buildings.

Local historian John Miller will be conducting two tours of the historic st Matthew's Anglican Church, graveyard & church.
The graveyard (1810) contains many historically significant graves including those of the Rouse & Terry families of Rouse Hill House. John Tebbutt, William Cox the road builder, Dr Thomas Arndell and Andrew Thompson as well as several First Fleeters.
The church building (1817) was designed and constructed by convict architect Francis Greenway. It is considered to be Greenway's masterpiece.

Hawkesbury Show
This three day Show is the biggest event held in the Hawkesbury. It is the second biggest Show in NSW after the Royal Easter Show. The Hawkesbury Show is organised by a committee of very dedicated members of the Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association. Where the Country meets the City with fabulous exhibits. Everything from the popular Animal Nursery to Show Bag Alley. Watch the magnificent Grand Parade on Saturday afternoon. Fireworks on Saturday Night and great entertainment all day every day on the arena. See the Displays in the Philip Charley Pavilion of Art, Photography, Horticulture, Apiculture, Gemstones, Craft, etc. Watch the Judging of Animals, see the chickens, goats, ducks, crafts, tractors, & machinery, roving entertainment; its all there for the family to enjoy. Close to Clarendon rail station and plenty off street parking available.
